Outreach

No
community endures without the support of
its members. No community develops if that
support is only financial. We ask first
for your good wishes and prayers, your
validation of our vision, your efforts to
heal the divisions in Christianity. If you
send us financial contributions, we ask
that they be given in this spirit. Since
our resources are so limited, we ask for
your financial assistance so that we can
remain a beacon of hope and of safety.
There is another way you can help. One of
or clergy members, Fred Quinn, is a
“Professional Story Teller”. Fred has
programs tailored for different groups
from elementary school to senior citizens
and everyone in between. Fred has agreed
to donate to The Inclusive Community, the
proceeds of any bookings he gets through
referrals from The Inclusive Community. If
you or anyone you know might use Fred’s
services, we promise you will enjoy them,
and our Community will benefit. Please
visit Fred’s website at
www.quinntales.com or email
him at
Fquinn5986@aol.com.
At every worship service we have a second
collection. While it would be tempting to
use these second collections for our own
expenses, we continue to donate those
collections, on a monthly basis, to other
worthy causes. Since the Inclusive
Community has its roots in the City of
Passaic, NJ many of the organizations we
support, are in Passaic.
The following are the organizations we
support. In times of natural disasters,
such as earthquakes, floods, hurricanes
and tsunamis we will re-designate monthly
collections to the Red Cross or other such
organizations which support their efforts.
The recipients of our normal monthly
second collections are:
-
The Salvation Army of Passaic –
we also collect non-perishable food at
Thanksgiving and warm clothing and toys
for Christmas
-
The Police Athletic League of Passaic
– working with the youth of Passaic
-
The United Passaic Organization –
which sponsors worthwhile projects in
Passaic
-
Habitat for Humanity of Paterson, NJ
– builds affordable housing for
residents of Paterson, NJ. We support
Habitat with our financial contributions
and our labor.
-
Hoffman Homes in Gettysburg, PA –
a residential treatment facility for
troubled and abused youth (age 7 and
up). This facility is affiliated with
the United Church of Christ. We collect
money for Hoffman Homes and participate
in the Christmas gift program for the
young residents of Hoffman Homes. We
also collect Campbell’s soup labels for
Hoffman Homes. For Halloween,
Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentines’
Day, Easter and Back to School we make
and send “goody bags’ of candy and other
items for each of the 140 young
residents at Hoffman Homes. Hoffman
Homes does important work putting back
together the shattered lives of young
people.
-
The Names Project – this is the
organization that started and maintains
the AIDS Memorial Quilt. It is
incredibly expensive to store, maintain
and transport the AIDS Quilt. The Quilt
is a wonderful memorial for those who
have died from AIDS as well as an
expression of love, loss and grief by
their loved ones.
If you would like to make a financial
contribution to The Inclusive Community or
any of the organizations listed above
please send those contributions to:
The
Inclusive Community
10 St. Paul’s Place
Nutley, NJ 07110
Please be sure to tell us where you would
like your contribution applied. We
thank you for your support. May God
bless you and your family. You are
the body of Christ!
