Mary
and I first celebrated with the Inclusive
Community on Palm Sunday, 2003. We both
recognized that our experience satisfied
our yearning for a loving yet challenging
opportunity to grow.
The following Christmas Eve, Anthony and
the community invited Mary and myself to
consider a more extensive participation in
the liturgical life of the community.
Indeed it was our privilege to respond to
Harry Dilk’s hospital stay and home
recuperation by way of a communion service
each week which we know brought the
blessings and prayers of the community to
Harry and Marge. We deeply appreciated the
invitation to celebrate Amy’s birthday
with Rebecca and Wayne’s family and
friends, as well as the home liturgy at
John and Marge Waldron’s home.
Truly the alabaster jar was poured out as
I was reanointed to celebrate the liturgy
on Palm Sunday, April 4, 2004. It was such
a fulfilling feeling for both Mary and
myself. Befitting a renewed calling after
so many years, and an anointing with so
precious an oil from the Inclusive
Community, we are filled with gratitude
to:
God our Creator, who is ever making old
things new,
Jesus, Liberator/Prophet, who frees us
from fear and interferes with injustice,
The Spirit of renewal, who is ever
creating new posssibities,
and a community which embraces all three.
Responding to the call Mary and I say, “We
are here Lord”.
